About
Our research work focuses on medical systems, improving diagnostic processes by automating data analysis and image recognition. We carry out research into the recording and processing of biometric data, particularly from biomedical signals such as electrocardiography and thermography. We are also conducting research in the field of computer-assisted surgery.
We are developing methods and devices designed to plan and carry out minimally invasive procedures based on pre-existing medical imaging. We create virtual organ models to provide surgeons with better visualisation and the necessary software. We are investigating medical information systems, creating and developing distributed medical systems, image archiving networks and data acquisition methods.
We research biomedical signal processing as a component of medical diagnosis in bruxism, cardiac arrhythmias, gastric arrhythmias and other conditions. We are also involved in the analysis of biological data using bioinformatics methods. Research focuses on high-throughput analysis of genomic data obtained using DNA microarray technology and proteomic data obtained using mass spectrometry and chromatography, among others. We are also researching technologies for the production of environmentally friendly biomorphic carbon/carbon and carbon/polymer composites and the characterisation of their physicochemical properties.

About
We carry out research and development work of a cognitive and applied nature in the field of production of metallic biomaterials with modified structure and specific mechanical properties (modulus of elasticity, shape memory and superelasticity) with surface layers (passive-diamond) with good physical and chemical properties and biocompatibility, intended for reconstruction and elastic anastomosis of tissues, as well as construction of a new generation of stabilisers for bone anastomoses with surgical instruments.
We are also involved in research on a new generation of robotic rehabilitation-diagnostic equipment for guiding multi-planar active and passive movement of the lower limbs using neurophysiological methods with full use of rehabilitation control and supervision, involving design, manufacturing, technical and clinical studies.
