EHAB project partners’ study visit
On the initiative of the Upper Silesian Market Enterprise Accelerator, one of the consortium members of the EHAB – European Regenerative Medicine and Biomaterials Hub project, we hosted representatives of all eight project partners at the EHTIC last Thursday, 28 June.
The visit to Zabrze was initiated by representatives of the MedSilesia Cluster and the meeting was aimed at presenting the infrastructural resources and scientific potential in the field of biomaterials in our region to guests from the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Sweden, Portugal and Germany.
The meeting was hosted by prof. Marcin Basiaga, Dean-elect of the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering at the Silesian University of Technology, who presented the infrastructure and research capabilities of the laboratories of the European Centre for Innovative Health Technologies. Prof. Anna Ziębowicz presented the areas of scientific activity, achievements and research carried out by the scientists of the Department of Biomaterials and Medical Devices Engineering.
At the invitation of GAPR, representatives of the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice also attended the meeting, and Robert Sarna presented Silesia LabMed, the research and implementation centre of SUM.
Traditionally, our guests also had the opportunity to visit selected EHTIC laboratories dedicated to biocompatibility and biomaterials research and learn a little more about the research being carried out there.
