HealthTech Innovation Conference 2023
On 9 and 10 October 2023 we held the 12th International HealthTech Innovation Conference dedicated to the latest technological developments in health and personalised medicine, with Prof. Marek Gzik, director of EHTIC as a host of the event.
The Conference was held under the patronage of:
- Marshal of the Silesian Voivodeship – Jakub Chełstowski
- Mayor of the City of Zabrze – dr Małgorzata Mańka-Szulik
- Rector of the Medical University of Silesia – prof. dr. hab. n.med. Tomasz Szczepański
- Rector of the Silesian University of Technology – Prof. Dr Arkadiusz Mężyk
We held:
- two sessions within the Priority Research Areas of SUT: Computational Oncology and Personalised Medicine (POB1): HealthTech Innovations in Personalised Medicine, where commissioned papers were presented
- a special session of American Heart of Poland dedicated to innovative solutions in cardiovascular medicine
- the EIT Health special session ‘From Vision to Action: Transforming Healthcare through Collaborative Innovation’, which discussed the opportunities, benefits and challenges of collaboration between business, education and science in the field of innovation
- a plenary session with the chairman of the Silesian Regional Assembly, Prof. Marek Gzik, on the digitalisation of healthcare in Silesia.
- a panel discussion with the managers of the region’s hospitals on the challenges faced by healthcare units in implementing the idea of Green Hospitals.
- a poster session ‘HealthTech Innovation Presentations’ with over 30 scientific papers presented
- a special session “International meeting & music gig – Around the world tour” during which we could learn some interesting facts about the distant corners of the world from which the students of the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering come. The session was honoured by string interpretations of the world’s most beautiful music, performed by Prof. Robert Michnik (Silesian University of Technology) and Joanna Kruszyńska-Szwedo, M.Sc. (University of Silesia).
The conference concluded with a visit to the Silesian Planetarium – Science Park and participation in the extraordinary popular science show “Saturn and Beyond”.
This unique edition of the HealthTech Innovation Conference was linked to the celebration of the Year of Science 2023 in the Silesian Voivodeship, and the Silesian Voivodeship was a partner of the event.
