The Simulated Operating Theater Lab
This laboratory allows us to replicate the layout of virtually any operating theater. Located directly adjacent to the Image Navigation Systems Prototyping Lab and the Ultrasound Lab, it provides a space for the development of methods to support minimally invasive surgical techniques.
The laboratory equipment includes a laparoscopic column, an operating table, an intra-operative ultrasound system (including a laparoscopic ultrasound transducer), a range of phantoms and a number of additional columns and screens. The layout of the equipment and the size of the room allow us to replicate most operating theatre layouts.
