Representatives of the State of Paraná in Brazil at EHTIC
Yesterday’s visit of the Brazilian guests took place within the framework of a cooperation agreement between the Silesian Voivodeship and the State of Paraná in Brazil, which aims to increase innovation and competitiveness and create new opportunities for the economic development of the region, including through the exchange of experience in the area of implementing and monitoring smart specialisations.
This cooperation was established during a joint project under the EU’s IURC (International Urban and Region Cooperation) programme, funded by the European Union under the Partnership Instrument, aimed at implementing the new urban agenda ‘Agenda 2030’ and cohesion policy in developing solutions to overcome common challenges.
As part of the visit, it is planned to attend the European Economic Congress in Katowice and meet with innovative Polish companies operating in various sectors of the economy, including:
- Medical Speciality Observatory,
- Upper Silesian Market Entrepreneurship Accelerator, which provides a platform for dialogue and cooperation and is an excellent partner in the process of commercialisation of scientific and technological research results in the economy, and is also the coordinator of the MedSilesia Cluster – Silesian Network of Medical Devices,
- Technomex, which has been present on the Polish market of rehabilitation equipment manufacturers and suppliers since 1987 and is a leading manufacturer of hydrotherapy and kinesitherapy equipment.
- Specialised Observatory in the area of Information and Telecommunications Technologies
- Science and Technology Park ‘Technopark Gliwice’, which is a modern business support centre.
During the visit to the EHTIC, we had the pleasure of presenting to our guests, representatives of the authorities and business support institutions of the State of Parama, the history of the creation of our centre, the technological potential of our laboratories, the scientific and research potential of the teams of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, and to discuss areas in which it is possible to establish scientific and research cooperation with scientific institutions in Brazil.
