A visit from the Rector of the Rwandan university INES Ruhengeri!

8 May 2023. Baribeshya Bosco, a representative of the Ruhengeri Institute of Higher Education, a partner university of Silesian University of Technology in Rwanda.

The visit was hosted by the Vice-Rector for Infrastructure and Promotion of Silesian University of Technology, Dr Tomasz Trawiński, and during the visit discussions on wider mutual international cooperation were continued.

Rector INES Ruhengeri visited the Faculty of Transport and Aeronautical Engineering, the Faculty of Electronics Automation and Computer Science, the Faculty of Civil Engineering, the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering and the European HealthTech Innovation Centre.

The meeting at the Zabrze campus was hosted by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof Zbigniew Paszenda, the Vice-Dean for Cooperation and Development, Prof Robert Michnik, the Head of the Department of Medical Informatics and Artificial Intelligence, Prof Ewa Piętka, and the Deputy Director of the EHTIC, Prof Marcin Kaczmarek. The guest from Rwanda was very impressed by the scientific, research and technological infrastructure in the laboratories of our centre. During the meeting, potential opportunities for cooperation in teaching, research or joint publications with the Rwandan university were also discussed.

INES Ruhengeri University is a relatively young non-public university open to all kinds of remote and local cooperation with institutions all over the world. The Silesian University of Technology signed a cooperation agreement with INES Ruhengeri in 2022. It is a dynamically developing research and teaching institution, made up of people who are open to knowledge and development.
